Teledyne Receives Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Achievement from the California Water Environment Association for Pollution Prevention
LOS ANGELES, California - February 26, 2007 - Teledyne Microelectronics Technologies, a business unit of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY), announced today that it has received a Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Achievement from the California Water Environment Association for Pollution Prevention.
This award was given to Teledyne Microelectronic Technologies for its commitment to environmental compliance and emphases to minimize waste through innovative pretreatment processes and effective methods for the recycling and reuse of industrial wastewater to allow Teledyne Microelectronic Technologies to become a Zero Discharge Facility.
“By becoming a Zero Discharge Facility, Teledyne Microelectronic Technologies has eliminated the discharge of approximately 3,700,000 gallons of industrial wastewater into the City of Los Angeles Public Owned Treatment Works,” said Michael Shearer, Director of Environmental Health & Safety. “Teledyne Microelectronic Technologies has worked to eliminate the storage and use of certain pre-treatment chemicals at the facility, thus allowing us to continue to achieve our Environmental Management Systems goal of becoming a “Green Operation” while supporting our customers.”
